small crimes
These works are a collection of charcoal illustrations on paper created for the purpose of exploring the ways that humans undervalue the lives of non-human animals and insects. Each of the three panels expresses a different sentiment intended to provide sympathetic understanding to a non-human creatures and the violence they face for the simple fact of existing. I believe that the sharing of kindness to all creatures, big and small, far and wide, has the potential to create lasting and impactful change to our world. If each living thing were met with compassion and consideration, we could all begin to understand the ways that diverse existence in the world allows for flourishing ecosystems and livelihoods. These pieces are to start a conversation, in hopes that care for all life can be upheld one day.
